Marine Maj. Gen. Larry Nicholson, deputy chief of staff,International Security Assistance Force Joint Command and Australian Maj. Gen. Stephen Day plans chief, IJC toured the Detention Facility in Parwan to gain a better understanding of the strategic-level mission performed at the DFIP. The tour was guided by Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, Brig. Gen. Dash Jamieson, deputy commander, CJIATF 435; and Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 oversees all detainee operations in Afghanistan. Task Force Protector personnel ensure the secure and humane care, custody and control of the detainees within the facility.
