ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Col. Jeff Vieira, Director of Defense Logistics Agency Land Operations, toured small arms operations at Anniston Army Depot Oct. 3.
During the visit, three individuals who have played lead roles in the continued success of the small arms program, particularly as it relates to the DLA mission to support warfighter needs in a timely manner, were recognized by Vieira.
Sherry Young, the maintenance management specialist for the depot's Small Arms Repair Facility and Wilma Nelson, the depot's MRP planner-buyer were recognized for their contributions.
Young and Nelson were honored "for the ongoing successful partnership between the Anniston Small Arms Shop and the DLA Land and Maritime Customer Operations Weapon System Support Manager, Industrial Team, Forecasting, and the Anniston Forward Execution Team.," according to the certificate each was presented.
Brenda Hester of DLA Distribution Anniston, Ala., was recognized for her "support to the kitting efforts for the TACOM M2 Machine Gun Mandatory Repair Parts Kit, which will be used to supply DLA parts to the Anniston Army Depot Small Arms Shop."
The three employees were nominated by Anne Tarrant, the program manager for small arms at DLA Land and Maritime.
