Fire refresher training ensures that firefighters and support personnel have information regarding current initiatives, the upcoming fire season, and any policy/guidance changes. Refresher training is provided to recognize and mitigate risk, maintain safe and effective practices, and reduce accidents and near misses.

The training is for DPW, DPTMS, and DES personnel that will be involved with the prescribed burn program this year. The material and requirement is prepared by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and covers basic wildland fire factors and behavior as well as safety considerations. The AP Hill prescribed burn plan for FY13 and the related procedures for prescribed burn crews will also be covered.
