YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea -- Four U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan Civilians received honors during the U.S. Forces Korea Civilian Employers of the Year Award Ceremony at Knight Field here, Sept. 21.

This ceremony was held to show appreciation to selected Civilians for outstanding work and dedication throughout the year of 2012.

"I really appreciate the opportunity to be recognized as Customer Service Employee of the Year," said Kwang Tae Kim, fire communication operator with the Directorate of Emergency Services of USAG Yongsan. "This goes to show you that hard work and dedication does pay off."

A 2012 Supervisor of the Year award went to Yong Sun Yi, transportation specialist with the Directorate of Logistics of USAG Yongsan.

"Being recognized as the Supervisor of the Year really made my family proud to know that all of my hard-work is being recognized," Yi said. "This is an honor and I really want to thank the DOL department for this recommendation."

Gen. James D. Thurman, commanding general of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command and USFK, gave a speech during ceremony to show his gratitude for the selected recipients during the award ceremony.

"It is always an honor to give recognition to individuals for outstanding work and dedication in providing great services to the Servicemembers, Civilians, and Families of the Garrisons," said Thurman. "USFK would like to thank everyone for your support in attending this event and would like to congratulations to all the recipients for a job well done."

The U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan employees honored during the 2012 USFK Civilian Employees of the Year ceremony include the following individuals:
