"We love doing these things for the community. We want them to come out and have a good time," said Shawn Johnson, manager of the Last Frontier Community Activity Center about the second annual salsa competition held Sept. 15, 2012. He said it had a few more competitors than in the previous year with Linh M Tang (pictured with Johnson) winning the prize for most unique salsa. The judges said they had never had a salsa made with the ingredients she had used (including chicken and lemon) and even if they did, it probably wouldn't come out tasting as good as hers.
