Army Analyst Briefs efforts to sustain and enhance energy business operations

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Boston Chapter partnered with the North Atlantic Division, US Army Corps of Engineers to conduct the New England and North Atlantic Regional Training Conference from June 26-27, 2012.

The event consisted of key speakers on the state of SAME as an organization, our military's sustainability challenges by Mr. Roger Natsuhara, Principal Assistant Secretary of the Navy - Energy, Installations, Environment, and technical sessions in Design and Construction, Asset Management, Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security, Sustainability, Green Remediation and Infrastructure, Water Resources, Small Business. Additional topics included contracting opportunities with USACE and other Federal and Regional Partners.

LTC Kevin Lovell, an Army analyst assigned to the Army Office of Business Transformation briefed on the intersection of the Army's efforts to sustain and enhance business operations with the Army's Energy Programs to support Soldiers, Vehicles and Installations. This intersection has resulted in the development and fielding of critical equipment to Soldiers, significant culture change in our force, and progress to meet federal energy mandates, all in a resource constrained environment.
