WATERVLIET ARSENAL, N.Y. -- Although the New York Capital District is not a military community such as Watertown, N.Y. is to Fort Drum, it is a community with military. The Watervliet Arsenal had the pleasure to work with the City of Albany to bring to the community a military concert on Father's Day, June 17. This concert not only celebrated Father's Day, but also the Army's Birthday.
The Arsenal coordinated three great acts that well represented the Army and the military. The Army Materiel Command Band, from Redstone Arsenal, Ala., represented the active Army. The 94th Army Rock Band, from East Windsor, Conn., represented the Army Reserve. And the USO Liberty Bells, from New York City, represented military-focused, non-profit organizations. The USO has been lifting the morale of troops and their families since 1941.
More than 2,500 from New York's Capital District were not only were touched by the professionalism of our Soldiers, but also by Army Birthday messaging.
