JOINT BASE MYER - HENDERSON HALL (June 20, 2012) -- USO leaders were honored guests at this week's U.S. Army Military District of Washington's Twilight Tattoo performance at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Wednesday.

USO National president Sloan D. Gibson, and USO of Metropolitan Washington president Elaine Rogers joined more than a thousand visitors and residents of the nation's capital as Soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) performed to the sounds of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own."

The USO of Metropolitan Washington is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization chartered by Congress and dedicated to "Serving those who serve, and their families" in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. With the help of nearly 5,000 devoted volunteers, USO-Metro provides programs and services for active duty service members and their families at area military hospitals; through its Mobile USO program; at five USO Centers; four USO airport lounges and through Operation USO Care Package.

"Twilight Tattoo" is a production of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington and is free and open to the public. It is scheduled every Wednesday night, rain or shine at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (Fort Myer) during the summer through the end of August.
