CAMP HUMPHREYS -- Soldiers with 719th and 532nd Military Intelligence Battalions were recognized for their spring cleaning accomplishments during a ceremony here, June 5.
During the ceremony, the winner's of this year's spring cleaning competition were presented a streamer from Maj. Alfred Muna, director of the Humphreys Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. They also received free passes to the garrison's Splish & Splash water park.
According to Master Sgt. Patrina Lee, who helped oversee the post cleanup, neat and tidy surroundings give Soldiers and civilians a boost in morale and pride.
And while all units did well, the 719th and 532nd were a notch above the rest, Lee added. "Each unit had Soldiers go out and take care of the unit's area of responsibility," she said. "The 719th and 532nd did an outstanding job making their areas look exceptional."
Soldiers on the winning team were: Sgt. Lee, Yu-harn; Sgt. Angel Rodriguez; Spc. Jeff Mack; Pfc. Matthew O'Brien; Spc. Dustin Hall; Pfc. Taylor Bennett; Pfc. Sean Hartley; Pfc. Scott Williams; Spc. Andrea Kraus; Spc. Matthew Vincent; Pfc. Joseph Anderson; and Private J.S. Lee.
"I was really proud to be a member of the winning team," Rodriguez said. "We kept the area clean. We worked hard and we worked together."
Sergeant Lee passed the credit for the recognition onto his Soldiers, and said, "They're the ones who did this great job."
The areas cleaned included their living quarters and areas around Alaska Mining Company restaurant and Zoeckler Station.
"The most important thing is that we worked together. I'm proud of this unit and it was a good experience for the Soldiers," Rodriguez said.
While the 12 Soldiers were the ones recognized, the pride was unit-wide.
"I'm proud of them. They worked so hard," said Staff Sgt. Betty Moultrie, a platoon sergeant with the 532nd. "They did a great job together. I was impressed with their effort and enthusiasm."
