FORT STEWART, Ga. - The Eastern Redbud trees along the Fort Stewart's Warrior's Walkway are a symbol of life. Every tree is a living tribute dedicated to the brave Soldiers from units of the Third Infantry Division who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

The Soldiers and Leaders under the Command of Lt. Col. Thomas Cunningham, 26th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd ID, gathered Thursday to remember fellow "Challengers" who demonstrated exceptional valor, honor and respect for their unit, their Army, and their country while serving in Operations Iraqi Freedom during their tree re-dedication ceremony held at Fort Stewart's Warrior's Walk, May 24.

"Each tree represents our warrior ethos and our values -- that we will never leave a fallen comrade, and we will never forget their service and sacrifice," said Commander, Lt. Col. Cunningham.

Warriors Walk pays tribute to 59 Soldiers from 2HBCT who died while serving.

Each each Spartan unit remembers those lost from their respective units by decorating their Trees in different ways.
