FORT HOOD, Texas - The Central Technical Support Facility is working with industry in its recent and continuing effort to support the Army's Agile Process. In that regard, the CTSF is providing risk reduction, information assurance, and network integration services to systems produced by private industry and selected as Systems Under Evaluation (SUE) for Network Integration Rehearsals (NIR) and Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) events at Fort Bliss, Texas, and White Sands Missile Range, N.M. (FBTX/WSMR).

These services allow the participating systems to "plug in" to the CTSF's NIE-representative network, and address issues prior to their arrival at FBTX/WSMR, saving industry--and the Army--time and money.

Prior to the recent NIE 12.1, the CTSF provided risk reduction, information assurance, and network integration services to nine SUEs including:

- The Network Operations Virtualization Package

- The DRS Company Command Post

- The JTRS WNW Network Manager with Ground Mobile Radio

- The Soldier Radio Waveform Network Manager

- Advanced Meshnets Technology

- SideHat with ITT Soldier Radio-Rifleman

- Tactical Transportable (3T Tropospheric Scatter)

- Wireless Network After Next

- Oceus 3G and 4G Tactical Cellular systems

- Joint Capabilities Release (JCR) Enhanced Mission Command.

The CTSF's efforts enable private industry to submit their products to the Army through the Agile Process for expedited review and testing, thus cutting the time it takes for possible acquisition and fielding. The CTSF provides the SUEs with familiarization with the NIE infrastructure, reparation for successful information, assurance scans familiarization with integration issues--a proven risk reduction process including expert and experienced engineering support.

The CTSF has also welcomed authorized private developer/providers to its campus to allow them access to test and integration facilities, providing a direct link between industry and Army software baseline systems. Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics are prominent among the industries represented on the CTSF compound.

Additionally, CTSF test officers and engineers have been working with McAfee and PEO-C3T developers and engineers to integrate the Host-Based Security System with Army LandWarNet baseline software systems. This work continues a long-standing relationship between the CTSF and industry.
