SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. - Maj. Gen. Kathleen M. Gainey, commanding general of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate March 13 for promotion to the rank of lieutenant general.
Gainey has been assigned to the position of director of Logistics, J-4, the Joint Staff, Washington, DC.
Gainey took the reins of SDDC Oct. 6, 2006. The command officially relocated its headquarters from Alexandria, Va. to Scott AFB, Ill. Aug, 14.
