Andrew Rader United States Army Health Clinic on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall hosted an open house April 25. The event, attended by staff, JBM-HH leadership and joint base partners, celebrated the clinic's national certification by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Patient Centered Medical Home.

The clinic's Deputy Commander for Administration, Maj. Sean Lankford, welcomed everyone for attending and paying tribute for this accomplishment. "We hope today to illuminate what you should expect from this new cultural mindset in Patient Centered Medical Home," said Lankford.

A short video was shown on combat medicine, featuring the physical injuries servicemembers encounter and the medical team's responsibility to treat those injured in the line of duty.

"We are now recognized by the NCQA -- and the only Army clinic in the National Capital Region and one of only 17 within the Army Medical Command to receive this recognition," said Rader Clinic Commander, Lt. Col. Jenifer Meno. She explained how Army primary care is changing and the continuity within medical care.

Meno pointed out there are 525,600 minutes in a year. "The Surgeon General of the Army, Lt. Gen. Patricia D. Horoho said 'We only have 100 minutes [per patient each year] to make a difference,'" said Meno. "Working as a team to provide better health care for the patient so we do make a difference is what PCMH is all about."
