FORT A.P. HILL, Va. -- Lt. Gen. John Sterling, deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, receives an overview of the U.S. Army Asymmetric Warfare Group's Asymmetric Battle Lab training facilities located at Fort A.P. Hill, Va., from Bill Mizell Feb. 15. The AWG ABL assists the unit in solution development and internal training, where it supports the combat effectiveness of the operational force, enabling the defeat of asymmetric threats through the use of hands-on testing, training and solution development. The AWG ABL is specifically designed as a learning environment to assess, develop and validate solutions, tactics, techniques and procedure, as well as support adaptive leader training. Headquartered out of Fort Meade, Md., the AWG provides operational advisory support globally to Army and Joint Force commanders to enhance Soldier survivability, combat effectiveness, and enable the defeat of current and emerging threats in support of Unified Land Operations.
