FORT CARSON, Colo. -- Fort Carson, Soldiers and community leaders welcomed Brig. Gen. Darsie Rogers to the 4th Infantry Division during a ceremony at the "Ivy" Division Headquarters Feb. 6.

As the new deputy commanding general for support, Rogers will provide mentorship, guidance and supervision to leaders and units across the division, said Maj. Gen. Joseph Anderson, commanding general, 4th Inf. Div. and Fort Carson.

Rogers will oversee fitness, sustainment, personnel services, health services and maneuver support for the 4th Inf. Div. and Fort Carson.

"The DCG-S is my right-hand man for all matters concerning support for our Soldiers," Anderson said. "Although this may seem like an easy task, I can assure you that it is not.

"The diversity and complexity of the missions that the Soldiers and civilians of this installation execute on a daily basis are (complex), and it takes the right kind of man and leader to accomplish this mission to the highest of standards," he said.

Rogers' years of experience serving in combat environments and wealth of knowledge will prove invaluable to the 4th Inf. Div.'s mission to train and deploy competent war fighters, said Anderson.

"We are extremely fortunate that Brig. Gen. Rogers was handpicked to join our team; to fill this demanding and critical position," Anderson said. "He is truly the right man at the right time and place to move this division forward."

Rogers, who previously served with the 10th Special Forces Group, stationed at Fort Carson, said he looked forward to rejoining the "Mountain Post" team.

"Friends and Family at Fort Carson, it's great to be back," Rogers said. "It is really refreshing to look out here and see so many friendly faces and old friends. I truly look forward to making new friends in the 4th Inf. Div., Fort Carson and Colorado Springs."

Rogers joins the 4th Inf. Div. after serving as the commander for Joint Forces Special Operations Component Command-Iraq.

"It is an honor to come here and be part of the 4th Inf. Div.," Rogers said. "I served alongside the 4th Inf. Div. multiple times in Iraq. It is a magnificent organization, and it is truly an honor to come back here and be part of a great team."
