African-American/Black History Month is a time to reflect on the contributions that African-Americans have made to the nation's society and to the rest of the world. The 2012 theme is Black Women in American Culture and History.
African-American women have played a variety of important roles, from the American Revolution through today. Their hard work and leadership, patriotism, intellect and artistic abilities have all enriched the nation at large.
