Name: Alice "Kay" Goodloe-Cutts, financial management analyst, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, Huntsville, Ala.
Age: 57
Hometown: Cherokee, Ala.
Years of federal service: 25 years (three years at the Aviation and Missile Command as a Department of the Army intern and the rest at SMDC) (SMDC is home)
Education: Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in management of technology
Marital status: Married for 22 years
Children: Two daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren
Activities/hobbies: Coordinating and decorating weddings and other events, singing, flower gardening, spending time with my grandchildren, listening to music, traveling and attending Alabama A&M University football games (but I really just like the hotels, casinos, skyboxes and tailgating -- don't care that much for the football game, but my husband thinks that's quality time together, so I go along)
Favorite movie: Lackawanna Blues (reminds me of my own life being raised by my precious grandma)
Favorite TV show: Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives
Favorite band: I love music -- all kinds, but my favorite era is 1970s R&B
Favorite thing about working for the Army: Having the opportunity to serve my country by supporting the Warfighter is an honor to me. And to be able to interact with so many great professionals and colleagues with different backgrounds for the same purpose -- for "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." I am proud to be an American!
What made you want to work for the Army: It offered me the opportunity to advance in my career, but also offered me job security, benefits and the growing salary I needed in order to raise my family.
