"Longknife" troops train to win

FT. HOOD, Texas -- Troopers assigned to 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, salute the flag during "Reveille" before stepping off on a ruck march, Jan. 10. "Long Knife" troops assigned to 4th BCT recently returned from a year-long deployment to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn, and the ruck march is part of a training regimen designed to further prepare them for future missions and challenges.
