Army seeking support for cloud integration capabilities

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- The U.S. Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command's communications-electronics center will hold an Industry Day Jan. 10 - 11 to inform potential partners of emerging technologies that will facilitate the integration of new capabilities that support Army cloud computing development efforts.

CERDEC Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate's Tactical Cloud Integration Laboratory focuses on developing and integrating new capabilities by "bridging" developers, vendors and solutions with operational users in a cohesive, isolated environment, said Kesny Parent, CERDEC I2WD TCIL Program Management Office.

"Program Manager Distributed Common Ground System-Army, or PM DCGS-A, has identified the need to establish operational clouds at fixed sites and at regional nodes to support Army intelligence data collection and analytics capabilities," said Parent.

In an effort to establish an infrastructure that supports the storage and management of multi-intelligence data and provide a computational framework that brings analytics to that data, CERDEC I2WD is seeking capabilities such as multi-intelligence, all-source analysis correlation; platform and resource allocation and optimization algorithms; predictive analysis tools; language translation services; still image and graphic processing capabilities; advanced human intelligence exploitation; and advanced visualization and conceptualization tools.

Industry, government agencies and academia with capabilities to fill these technology shortfalls related to Tactical Cloud Integration are asked to propose solutions and possibly present those solutions and technologies to CERDEC I2WD.

Those interested in participating in TCIL Industry Day should submit participation packages containing company information, contact information, a thorough product description, capabilities outlined in Section 4 of the I2WD TCIL Industry Day Packet and presentation overviews to the I2WD TCIL Program Management Office team at kesny.parent@us.army.mil or upesh.patel@us.army.mil.
