Convoy Security: Cavalrymen secure routes for 2/82 convoys

Pfc. Ryan Tischmak, a medic assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division's A Troop, 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, takes a knee while searching the area for roadside bombs on Nov. 15. Paratroopers from A Troop secured a route in Baghdad for other units from the brigade traveling from Camp Ramadi to Kuwait. The troop made several stops along the route to check the area on foot for improvised explosive devices and meet with Iraqi Army soldiers at IA checkpoints. The 2nd Brigade is the last brigade in Baghdad and is facilitating the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq. Tischmak is a native of Seattle, Wash.
