Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. George W. Casey Jr. visited with Soldiers from the 2nd Infantry Division and all over the peninsula during a trip to Korea Dec. 14.

Casey, who has been serving as CSA for a little more than eight months, boosted the morale of many Soldiers who will be spending the holidays away from their Families.

Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnston, Battery A, 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment said, "It's good to see that the leadership cares and that the chain of command takes an active concern in our welfare and well-being. It's not easy being away from Family during the holidays. Even the little things like that help."

Casey's visit to the 2nd Infantry Division was the first time many junior enlisted Soldiers had ever seen a four star, and would view this visit as a message that their efforts do not go unnoticed.

"It's great that he's taking the time to come down and see us," said Pfc. Eric Burns, 6 - 37 FA. "It's not often that you get to meet a general of any sort. So, this is a great opportunity for me to actually see one and take that incentive to be a better soldier."
