FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md., - A construction project on Reece Road near the main entrance to Fort Meade could affect traffic in the area for up to three months.
Beginning October 17, BG&E will begin construction of an electric duct bank and cable project which will run along Reece Road between Route 175 to Jacobs Road. Drivers, who normally use Reece Road, should expect to encounter lane closures, lane shifts and flagging operations.
Residents in the Fort Meade neighborhood of Normandy Bluffs may experience times when only one lane will be available to enter and exit the community during a portion of the trenching operations.
To minimize the impact during morning and evening rush hours, work which will affect traffic will be restricted to from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. All other work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This project is scheduled to take two to three months to complete.
Please drive carefully and slow down in construction zones.
