ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. - Col. Richard Dix, Army Sustainment Command chief of staff, represented the command at a National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration event, Sept. 23.
The event included a ceremony at Schwiebert Park, Rock Island, Ill., honoring all branches of the United States military with a floating floral wreath cast into the Mississippi River.
Following the ceremony was a ribbon cutting for the Mi Casa Nueva: QC Mexican Heritage, an exhibition at Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa. This new addition to the museum promotes understanding of Mexican culture and examines the contributions of Mexican-Americans to the Quad-Cities community.
