Prepping for Christmas in Kuwait

Lakeland, Ga., native Staff Sgt. Willie Grant, a fire and effects noncommissioned officer for the 1st Air Cavalry "Warrior" Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, puts some finishing touches on a real Christmas tree in Camp Virginia, Kuwait. Grant is a part of a node that manages the movement of Warriors back to the United States. He is, along with his fellow Soldiers manning the node, spending Christmas in Kuwait this year - that is two consecutive Christmases spent overseas for these troopers.

Rangeley, Maine, native Pfc. Rob LaPointe, a fire support specialist for the 1st Air Cavalry "Warrior" Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, places an angel ornament on top of a real Christmas tree at Camp Virginia, Kuwait, Dec. 12. Like many he works with, LaPointe will be spending the holidays in Kuwait working at a node that manages the movement of Warriors back to the United States. The live tree was donated by a company from Ohio with hopes to raise morale during what can be a difficult time of the year for Soldiers deployed away from family.
