FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. - On July 18, Picerne Military Housing launched a new website designed to be user-friendly and better serve incoming and current residents.

"Through our feedback from residents, we've noticed that one of the areas we could improve on is our website," said Bill Mulvey, vice president of communications and marketing for Picerne. "Our customers are becoming increasingly mobile, and we need to make sure we get them the information they need."

The new website has several features including a mobile site, up-to-date wait lists, recent articles and maps of the post. Residents are now able to view their neighborhood calendar and find out about upcoming events and services. Various community resources and post information can also be found on the website.

"Anyone can submit questions or comments to Picerne directly on the web," Mulvey said. "This is an excellent customer service piece on the new site that we hope our customers will take advantage of. Depending on the question or comment, response time will be approximately 24 hours."

Relocating or incoming service members are now able to view wait lists in advance, apply online and view photos and floor plans of homes that are available on post. The website also allows the user to place furniture and other household items into the floor plan.

The Army's Live Army Green Program also has its own informational page. Currently, this page links to a Live Army Green video, frequently asked questions on the program, a sustainability fact sheet and other energy-related websites.

"We're really trying to get the word out to residents that this is a great program, and everyone needs to conserve energy to save our planet," said Amber McNeil, Live Army Green committee member for Picerne.

The website also hosts a construction page, which outlines the schedule and building efforts that Picerne has completed to date in its 50-year partnership with the Army. Plans for the current year are also outlined as part of this page to keep residents up to date on the program.

"With the changes and updates we've made, we're really hoping this website can assist all of our future and current residents," Mulvey added.

Another feature of the website that will be added soon is a resident portal. Through the portal, residents will be able to log in to review their personal housing-related information.

Picerne's new website is available at www.meadepicerne.com.
