ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Rock Island, Ill. -- Edward Kall and Michael Gindl, Civilian Human Resources Agency, North Central Regional Director's Office, Information Systems Division, earned and were awarded two of the highest human resources awards in government this year on May 13.

At a ceremony at the Pentagon, Kall was awarded the 2010 William H. Kushnick Award and Michael Gindl the 2010 Nick Hoge Award.

As the chief of the Automated Nature of Action Processing Team, Kall earned the William H. Kushnick Award for his leadership, innovation and dedication, which saved the Army more than $1.1 million dollars during 2010 through improvements in how the Army processes personnel related transactions.

Gindl earned the Nick Hoge Award for his professional paper entitled "Implementing Web-based Wizards and Web-based Dashboards." Gindl's paper demonstrated the benefit from the addition and enhancement to the data entry processes in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System and other support systems, by using web-based wizards. His paper incorporates technology and redirects assets, which now serves as a business model to gain efficiencies within the human resources community.

The North Central Regional Director's Office is located on the Rock Island Arsenal.
