GEN Peter W. Chiarelli, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, touched-down in Vicenza, Italy July 14 for a day-long visit that kicked-off in the South of the Alps Dining Facility, then continued to the U.S. Army Africa Headquarters for a command briefing with primary staff. USARAF Chief of Staff Col. Marcus De Oliveira escorted Chiarelli to Dal Molin to see the progress of the facilities now under construction, then on to Longare, Italy for in-depth briefings on USARAF's Current Operations Integration Center and it's Contingency Command Post.
