KABUL " The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $64.2 million contract for the design and construction of an Afghanistan National Army garrison for the 3rd Brigade 203rd Corps of the Afghanistan National Army in Deh Yak District, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan.

The garrison will be composed of the 3rd Brigade Headquarters, garrison support unit, combat service support battalion, combat support battalion, one infantry kandak (Afghanistan battalion), a military police and route clearance companies, and transient kandaks.

The project is defined as the materials, labor and equipment to construct buildings, parking, utilities and other infrastructure for a design population of approximately 3,100 personnel.

The garrison’s facilities will include administrative buildings, dining facilities, barracks, force protection facilities to include guard shacks and entry control points, vehicle maintenance facilities, small arms storage and a motor pool area.

The intent is to provide permanent basing standards using K-Span construction methods and standardized designs to complete the project within a 580-day period of performance.

Lakeshore TolTest Joint Venture is the contractor for the multi-million dollar project.
