FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Allen B. Garrison Jr. was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel during a ceremony at the Iron Mike Statue June 21.
He was joined by (pictured left to right) his sister, Dede Carney, father, Allen Garrison Sr. (a retired Army major who served in the 18th Airborne Corps in the 1980s), his mother, Fannie Garrison and sister Alana Garrison.
Garrison is the 905th Contingency Contracting Battalion’s executive officer and has served in the Army for 19 years. He hails from Greensboro, N.C., graduating from Grimsley High School in 1988. Garrison went on to earn a finance degree from North Carolina A&T;State University in 1994 and an MBA from Troy State University in 2004.
