Fort Lee supports local Flag Day, Army Birthday event

Maj. Gen. James Hodge, commanding general of the Combined Arms Support Command, offers birthday greetings at the the opening ceremony of the Association  of the U.S. Army Flag Day, Army Birthday Observance Saturday at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.  "I'm very excited and honored to help celebrate not only the Army's birthday but to pay tribute to the flag that represents freedom to millions around the world," he said.

Attendees were fascinated by the many operational applications of parachutes in the field.  Riggers from the Quartermaster School's Aerial Delivery and Field Services Department spent much of the day explaining their uses and the parachute training provided to personnel at Fort Lee.
