The U.S. Army Contracting Command, activated in March 2008, provides global contracting support to warfighters through the full spectrum of military operations. ACC is comprised of two subordinate commands, six major Contracting Centers and operates at more than 117 locations worldwide. The Mission and Installation Contracting Command supports CONUS installations and the ECC supports forward deployed forces and OCONUS installations.

ACC’s 5,500 military and civilian workforce executed more than 261,000 contracting actions worth $92.9 billion in fiscal year 2010. If a Soldier shoots it, drives it, flies it, wears it, eats it or communicates with it " ACC contracts for it.

About 60 percent of the ACC headquarters staff is on hand at Redstone; ECC has approximately 40 percent of its staff here. Once the transition is complete this summer, approximately 350 Soldiers and civilians will be working in the two headquarters. The new ACC/ECC facility is expected to break ground in 2013 and open in 2015.
