Members of Girl Scout Troop 1888, Gwinnett County, poses with Soldiers from the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) June 1 following a delivery of cookies to the Soldiers. Troop 1888 has been donating cookies to Soldiers for years now, mainly sending them overseas to deployed Soldiers. This year, troop leader Roxanne Lau said she wanted to focus on Soldiers stateside as well. The troop donated 540 boxes to USARC SC Headquarters. “We wanted to keep some boxes at home. Everyone seems to remember the Soldiers overseas but not the Soldiers stateside,” Lau said. The troop also donated cookies to the 335th Theater Signal Command, Warner Robins Air Base, and various Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals.
