Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command members were recognized by the Greater Saint Louis Federal Executive Board with one team and four individual awards during an honorary breakfast May 5.
SDDC award winners are the Defense Transportation Tracking System team; Vonda Lewis, of the Strategy, Plans, Policy and Programs division; and Dave Longhorn, Bryan Douglass and John Wicinski of Transportation Engineering Agency.
According to the nomination package, DTTS won a team award for exceptional teamwork in executing their highly critical 24/7 mission. DTTS has responsibility for monitoring the safety and security of the Department of Defense Arms Ammunition and Explosives moving via commercial means while in transit, and acts as the central tracking site for DOD.
"This team works together seamlessly, handling issues across multiple shifts and sometimes throughout multiple days, without skipping a beat," said Dan Bradley, program manager for DTTS.
Bradley expressed his pride for the DTTS team saying they are a small group of dedicated individuals with a high level of skill and responsibility.
"It's nice to be publicly recognized for the depth and scope of what we do, and in the company of larger DOD agencies and civilian organizations," he said.
The award winning DTTS team includes Dan Bradley, Bill Maham, Annvetta Barnett-Hansen, David Miller, Debbie Jackson, Almetea Moore, Debbie Jackson-Boock, Geraline Gross, Kenneth Thibodeau, Richard McLean, Margret Meade, Kent Curlee, Charlene Delozier, Salomon Lujan, Kevin Turner, Terri Kruse, Debra Collier, Rogers Lavender, Gergory Hartl, Marty Calkins, and Scott Flamm.
