FORT STEWART, Ga. - On April 15, at Fort Stewart, Soldiers and their Families got a new way to appreciate what the Army and Air force Exchange Service has to offer those who serve.

AAFES opened a new Arby's restaurant on Fort Stewart, only the second opened on an Army post.

Colonel Kevin Milton, garrison commander for Fort Stewart and Command Sgt. Maj. James Ervin, garrison command sergeant major for Stewart, were in attendance and were the first two customers at the new Arby's.

"It's another benefit for the Soldiers and Family Members of this installation," said Command Sgt. Maj. Ervin. He added that Arby's came because garrison conducted an internal analysis and determined that Arby's was one of the most popular restaurants for Soldiers and their Families and was the best choice to bring to Stewart.

Thea Sarver is the general manager for the Fort Stewart Consolidated Exchange.

She oversaw Arby's coming to the installation.

"This offers another name-brand food for our military community," she said. "It also allows them another opportunity to come on post and eat at our food court and add to what we offer."

The new Arby's is located at the Food Court inside the Post Exchange.
