HWACHEON, South Korea - To enhance alliance interaction and friendship, Republic of Korea Army Maj. Gen. Jun In-bum, commander of the ROK Army's 27th Infantry Division, invited senior alliance noncommissioned officers to the 27th Infantry Division headquarters March 22.

Among them was Command Sergeant Major of the ROK Army Jeong Hae-chun and Command Sgt. Maj. Robert A. Winzenried, command sergeant major for United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, U.S. Forces Korea and Eighth Army.

At a ceremony remembering the attack on ROK Ship Cheonan, Jeong and Winzenried emphasized the importance of the ROK-U.S. Alliance and reflected on the roles and missions noncommissioned officers play on the peninsula.

The group visited the 27th Infantry Division basic training camp to see how the ROK and U.S. training systems differ.

The NCOs shared ideas on how to strengthen the training system.

At the individual combat training camp, the leaders encouraged the Soldiers to put in the maximum effort to complete basic training.

"Having the representatives of the ROK and U.S. Army noncommissioned officers help motivate young Soldiers highly contributes to strengthening the ROK-U.S Alliance," said Maj. Gen. Jun In-bum, commander of the 27th Infantry Division. "We should keep our effort to reinforce this interaction which leads to a solid alliance between the ROK and U.S."
