Safety Directors,

I am pleased to announce the launch of the new "Civilian's Corner," which is the latest addition to the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center website. These pages are some of the highlights of the Civilian's Corner, focusing on the beneficial tools and resources available:

* "Standards and Regulations:" - features the "Civilian Leader's Guide," - which is an excellent tool for leaders and supervisors of civilian employees.

* "Voluntary Protection Program:" - provides links to the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program and Department of Defense VPP Center of Excellence Websites.

* "Worker's Compensation:" - contains the Injury Compensation Program Administrator Handbook, Federal Employees' Compensation Act Working Group meeting instructions for conducting a FECA Working Group, and a template for scribing FECA Working Group meeting minutes, provided by the Injury Compensation Program Manager, Army G-1.

* "Return-to-Work Program:" - provides information on the "Department of Defense Pipeline Program." By utilizing Pipeline, the Army experienced $69 million in future cost avoidance in 2009, and $128 million in 2010.

* "POWER Initiative:" - features Secretary of Labor Solis' memorandum addressing President Obama's "Protecting Our Workers and Ensuring Reemployment" initiative and target reduction goals for federal agencies.
