General awarded second star

Lt. Gen. Thomas Miller (left), First Army commanding general, promotes Mark MacCarley to major general March 17 during a private ceremony held at First Army Headquarters, Fort Gillem. MacCarley, deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Reserve, First Army, assumed his position Sept. 15, 2010.  MacCarley is responsible for assisting Miller with the training, readiness and mobilization of all Reserve and National Guard units across the U.S. and two U.S. territories.  MacCarley is also the commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve Support Command at First Army.
