Members of the Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington were informed they had surpassed their Combined Federal Campaign goal and will be awarded the CFC Summit Award for their generosity.

Maj. Gen. Karl R. Horst, commanding general of the JFHQ NCR/MDW, presented the 2010 CFC manager, Sgt. Maj. Brian M. Jones, J1, a commanding generals' coin at a Town Hall meeting at Fort McNair, Feb. 2.

JFHQ NCR/MDW exceeded its goal by 11% and will be presented the Summit Award by the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army on 14 February. The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area presents the Summit Award to reporting units or independent agencies that achieve a three percent increase in giving over the previous year's campaign.

Horst presented coins to other command members for their recent exceptional service and also recognized a number of civilian employees for receiving federal service longevity awards: Nancy Abner, SJA, 30 years; Evelyn Collins, J/G8, 25 years; Patricia Johnson, IG, 20 years and Jimmy Willis, J/G6, 20 years of government service.
