D. Scott Welker (left), deputy to the commander, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, speaks with U.S. Representative-elect Bobby Schilling (center) during a recent visit to Rock Island Arsenal.

Schilling was elected in November to represent the Illinois 17th District, which includes the Rock Island Arsenal.

He will serve on the House Armed Services Committee, and the visit was an opportunity for him to learn about the global reach of the Army Sustainment Command, the Joint Munitions Command, the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center, and the Rock Island Contracting Center, as well as the Arsenal's significant economic impact on surrounding communities.
