FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- Several senior leaders from the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command visited the Program Executive Office Soldier Dec. 20.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Tucker, commander; Robert Moore, deputy; and Sgt. Maj. William Kaudart, senior enlisted advisor, toured the PEO-Soldier headquarters.

During their tour, the USASAC leadership received hands-on demonstrations of the latest equipment our Soldiers are using. Their walkthrough showcased body armor, parachutes, uniforms, situational awareness tools, weapons and a dark room night vision demonstration.

The visit also included an office call with Brig. Gen. Peter Fuller, PEO-Soldier commanding general, and briefings by all of the PEO-Soldier project managers.

PEO-Soldier is the Army acquisition office responsible for developing and fielding virtually everything a Soldier wears or carries with the primary mission of ensuring that today's Soldiers are lethal and survivable across all operating environments.

USASAC implements approved U.S. Army security assistance programs, including Foreign Military Sales of defense articles and services to eligible foreign governments. The command manages approximately 4,400 FMS cases valued at more than $103 billion. USASAC also manages the Army's co-production program.
