ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. Aca,!" Team Anniston, as we approach the holiday season, I want to extend my greetings to each of you. I am once again proud to be a part to this great team.

While hosting the Army Materiel Command-sponsored Depot and Arsenal Executive Leadership Program earlier this month, I was extremely pleased, but not surprised, to hear the accolades that my comrades made about Anniston.

Though this was not their first visit to the depot, the programAca,!a,,cs director Ted Sturgeon said it was obvious that significant enhancements have been made over the years with impressive process improvements. Twenty-four leaders were divided into groups of four to conduct value stream analyses while gaining a broader perspective of Lean Six Sigma principles. It was an invaluable educational experience.

YouAca,!a,,cre continuously supporting the mission by ensuring that the warfighters have the best possible heavy combat vehicles, artillery, weapons, and components possible in the most efficient manner.

And youAca,!a,,cre making a difference within the community. Last week you touched the lives of 242 children who are in the Alabama Department of Human Resources Preservation of Homes program. Because charity begins at home, you also provided financial gifts to 11 installation families who were experiencing hardships. This significant contribution, which embraces the joys of the season, equated to more than $50,000.

But, youAca,!a,,cre always giving year round; your support to the Combined Federal Campaign has topped $401,000. Thank you for making life better for those who are less fortunate by supporting the non-profit organizations.

Whatever your plans are for the holidays, I ask that you remember the men and women in uniform who are without the comforts of home or the company of family and friends. They are serving for the greater good of mankind and defending our nation in distant lands.

Our freedoms are precious and the sacrifices they make are honorable.

If you are taking to the road this season, keep safety in mind. Buckle up, get plenty of rest, avoid use of electronic devices while driving, and donAca,!a,,ct drink and drive. LetAca,!a,,cs return to kick the New Year off to a great start with the same dedication.

From the Sullivan family to yours Aca,!" I wish each of you and your families the happiest of holidays and a most prosperous New Year!
