A time for Thanksgiving

Soldiers from U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command truly had something to be grateful for this year. The night before Thanksgiving typically has families shopping for last minute items, or at home already cooking for the next day. That was not the case for family members and friends of the 12 Soldiers from Army Space Support Team 6, 2nd Space Company, 1st Space Battalion, and Army Space Support Team 20, 117th Space Battalion, Colorado army National Guard. The Colorado Springs Airport was packed as the Soldiers from the two teams returned from their yearlong deployment to Afghanistan the evening of Nov. 24. Banners, posters and flowers awaited the Soldiers as they came up the ramp way and quickly ran into arms of children, spouses and other loved ones joyfully crying. It was truly a time for Thanksgiving.
