FORT RUCKER, Ala. -- Those looking to start Christmas shopping early had an opportunity to get started during the annual Fort Rucker Community Spouses Club's Hollyday Mart at Daleville High School Nov. 13.
More than 100 local arts and crafts vendors participated in the event and sold items like home decorations, art, personalized and monogrammed gifts and crafts and antiques, according to Jackie Crogan, Hollyday Mart co-chairperson.
"We had a lot of good participation last year," Crogan said. "It's grown every year."
The entry fee for patrons was $2, or the equivalent in canned food goods, per person and all proceeds went to help military Families and those in the community, said Crissy Baker, FRCSC president.
"All the funds we raise goes back into our welfare fund and to help with scholarships for the Wiregrass community and Fort Rucker," Baker said. "We sold just as many spaces this year as we did last year."
The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for FRCSC and it is a good opportunity for local vendors to bring more business to their shops, Baker added.
