FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. - The Network Enterprise Technology Command/9th Signal Command (Army) held their annual Retention Training Seminar in Phoenix where one noncommissioned officer was chosen to represent the unit at the Department of the Army Career Counselor board in Washington, D.C., in January 2011.

Staff Sgt Brian M. Yee, career counselor, 41st Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade, was named the 9th Signal Command (Army) Career Counselor of the Year for 2010. Yee, who joined the Army as an infantryman in November 2001, was awarded the title after competing against several of his career counselor peers stationed throughout NETCOM.

"He competed in an army physical fitness test, a written exam, and an oral presentation board to select the most proficient career counselor within the command," said Master Sgt. Shelia Obleton, senior career counselor, 1st Signal Brigade. The board panel consisted of command sergeants major and sergeants major from throughout 9th Signal Command (Army).

Not surprised by Yee's win this year, Obleton describes Yee as a Soldier with outstanding organizational and communication skills.

"And at the end of the day, he cares about Soldiers and the Army."
