CHICAGO - Capt. Scott Leifker was doubly honored while attending a White Sox game Aug. 25.

Leifker, commander of Army Sustainment Command's Headquarters and Headquarters Company at Rock Island, Ill., was honored as a Hero of the Game on the same night Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at U.S. Cellular Field.

Severely wounded in a 2006 car bomb explosion in Iraq, Leifker was a guest of the White Sox, in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project. Mullen was at the game while on three-day Conversation with the Country tour to the Midwest, meeting with local civic and business leaders to discuss needs of returning troops, their families, and how community leaders can support them.

The two met and exchanged greetings on the field and later in the stands.
