
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Five U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command noncommissioned officers were inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club during the 13th Annual SMD Conference in Huntsville, Ala., Aug. 17.
Lt. Gen. Kevin T. Campbell, USASMDC/ARSTRAT commanding general; Command Sgt. Maj. Larry Turner, USASMDC/ARSTRAT command sergeant major; and Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Elvin (Al) Hobbs of Pioneer Services inducted Staff Sgt. James Harris, Staff Sgt. Guy Jackson, Sgt. 1st Class Charles Ahlborn, Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Collins, and Sgt. 1st Class Kelly Hart into the prestigious club during the opening ceremonies of the conference.
SAMC is an important part of the USASMDC/ARSTRAT commanding general's and CSM's NCO development program. It provides special recognition to an elite group of NCOs who have demonstrated performance and inherent leadership qualities and abilities characterized by those of Sgt. Audie Murphy.
As a squad leader, Murphy consistently demonstrated the highest quality of leadership, professionalism and regard for the welfare of his Soldiers.
Murphy was the highest decorated Soldier in American History.
