Baghdad - Twenty-eight Iraqi Army Soldiers graduated from the Mobile Kitchen Trailer and Mobile Bakery Trailer Course at Camp Taji, Aug. 22.

The Soldiers were awarded certificates of completion during the ceremony, which marked the first time Iraqi Soldiers from the Presidential Brigade attended the MKT/MBT course.

The instructors put the students through a rigorous program designed to provide hands-on experience with the operation and maintenance of kitchen and bakery trailers under simulated field conditions. All classes were conducted outdoors at a training site.

Once the students were oriented on the equipment, they conducted practical exercises cooking full-course meals including fish and chicken, rice, beans, and bread. During these exercises they were given the opportunity to conduct pre- and post-maintenance checks, operate all peripheral equipment, and conduct clean up.

The MKT/MBT course will provide Iraqi Army students with the capability to feed their Soldiers in a field environment with the most current equipment and technology.

The course is an important building block to establishing a professionalized NCO corps in the Iraqi Army. With the knowledge and skills learned, these Soldiers will be better equipped to be enlisted leaders within their units.
