Soldiers of Company C, 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division conducted urban maneuver training for the Iraqi Police's Muthanna Tactical Skills Unit at the Provincial Regional Training Center recently.
The troops provided training for the TSU Company on all aspects of conducting raids and contingency operations, including first aid, cordons, reflexive fire, room-clearing, and more.
"It was rewarding to train the TSU," said Pfc. Cody White of Anadarko, Okla., a tank crewmember with Company C, 3rd Bn., 29th FA Regt. "We saw them improve by leaps and bounds in only two weeks."
The Muthanna Regional Training Center is home to many training events. Currently the TSU training cycle is the only one partnered with the U.S. Army. The Soldiers of Company C are anticipating training several companies of TSU in the coming months.
"Right now, the fight is in training and ensuring the competency of our Iraqi counterparts," said Sgt. 1st Class, Dennis Doyle of Las Vegas, Nev., a platoon sergeant with Company C, 3rd Bn., 29th FA Regt. "The more opportunities we have to pass knowledge on to the Iraqi Security Forces, the more they will be able to continue to take the lead in maintaining stability and security in their country."
