Joint Security Station Carver transfers to Iraqi Army

BAGHDAD (Army News Service, June 16, 2010) - Joint Security Station Carver was transferred from the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division to the 45th Bde., 11th Iraqi Army Division on June 11.

JSS Carver marks the eighth such unit to be turned over to the ISF in the 2nd BCT's operational environment. The Soldiers of 4the Bn., 31st Inf. Regt. have worked with 45th Bde., 11th IA throughout the past eight months by conducting partnered training, patrols and humanitarian assistance missions in the Mada'in district.

In accordance with the Security Agreement the bases or facilities will be returned to the control of the appropriate government or Iraq entity or they will be demilitarized and closed. The facilities were able to close or transfer to Iraqi control since Iraqi Security Forces assumed full responsibility for security in their respective areas.
