Corpus Christi, TX; Just after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, Col. Christopher B. Carlile accepted CCADAca,!a,,cs Command flag from Maj. Gen. James R. Myles, Commanding General, Army Aviation and Missile Command, becoming the 23rd Commander in the depotAca,!a,,cs history.

A warm summer morning greeted the attendees for the ceremony held inside the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi.

Carlile, who most recently commanded the ArmyAca,!a,,cs Unmanned Aerial System Center of Excellence based at Ft. Rucker, Ala., is looking forward to his tour at CCAD.

Aca,!A"IAca,!a,,cve been looking for this type of command,Aca,!A? said Carlile. Aca,!A"IAca,!a,,cm absolutely excited to work alongside the best people in aviation maintenance who understand the needs of the Warfighter.Aca,!A?

With an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the Army Air War College and very familiar with aviation maintenance, Carlile noted that the depot is a Aca,!A"national treasure.Aca,!A?

Recognized as a world leader in rotary wing maintenance and repair operations, CCAD provides overhaul, repair, modification, recapitalization, retrofit, testing and modernization of helicopters, engines and components for all service and foreign military sales.

The depot serves as a training base for active duty Army, National Guard, Reserve and foreign military personnel. And depot field teams provide on-site maintenance services for units deployed worldwide.

Addressing the 300-plus employees and guests in attendance, he said, Aca,!A"We must continually remind ourselves, the ultimate measurement is supporting our soldiers. This depot does it.Aca,!A?

Myles, who presided over the ceremony, noted that Dunaway always led from the front, Aca,!A"I could not have envisioned a better leader,Aca,!A? he said. Aca,!A"Joe, you hit it out of the park.Aca,!A?

Celebrating its 49th year, the depot tripled production during DunawayAca,!a,,cs three year tenure and grew to more than 5500 employees while contributing more than $1 Billion to the local economy.

Dunaway is moving on to Director, Distribution and Deployment Operations Center, US Forces-Iraq.

Turning his attention to Carlile, Myles said, Aca,!A"Corpus Christi, you are extremely fortunate. Chris is just like Joe Dunaway, theyAca,!a,,cre cut from the same cloth.Aca,!A?

Myles said that Carlile has the maintenance background and leadership necessary for the depot to Aca,!A"continue to contribute to the Army in a significant way.Aca,!A?
